Job content

We are seeking a Finance Director having expertise in the modern technology industry to shape the next chapter of our growth story. Merging from two Finnish Visma companies at year-end, we are a software company serving both public and private sectors’ mid to large customers. We have a turnover of around 60M euros and growing. Our broad product portfolio covers payroll, travel and expense management, education, finance, workforce management, HR and HRD.

The job

You will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our company. You’ll work closely with the Managing Director and the management team to set financial goals, manage budgets, and drive growth. Your strategic thinking, expertise in financial planning, and leadership abilities are key to our business’ long-term success.

In this role, you are a member of the company’s management team and work closely with the business areas’ management teams. You oversee your organisation’s strategic and operational execution and lead a 10-member finance function (with three direct reports) aligned with the company’s goals. You also provide support for other public segment Visma companies when needed.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic leadership: Ensure our plans are in line with growth targets and strategy. Develop and execute financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes. Master our financial performance analysis, set KPI’s and recommend improvements. Evaluate and provide financial insight on M&A, pricing, business cases and other investment opportunities.

  • Leading the team: Inspire and lead people in line with our values and strategic objectives, ensuring personal and team growth and engagement

  • Stakeholder relations: co-operate and influence different stakeholders, including board members and group/segment finance regarding financial performance and projections. Improve company level financial understanding.

  • Compliance: Ensure the company’s financial practices are in line with legislation, regulations and group guidelines. Evaluate and manage financial risks. Monitor cash flow, accounts, and other financial transactions. Provide financial leadership and direction if needed.

What’s needed

You have a robust professional experience in senior financial/leadership roles (a minimum of 10 years) ideally from a SaaS or technology environment. Our business includes several business areas and products, so experience from complex environments is beneficial. We expect you to have exceptional financial modelling, analysis, and forecasting skills and proven experience in M&A’s. We also see value if you have experience in working in companies of different maturity levels. Due to compliance regulations, excellent Finnish language skills are mandatory.

You are proactive, innovative, and always informed. You are an excellent listener, communicator, network builder and show confidence around you. You are adept at understanding the cause-effect relationships of different business functions. You thrive in a fast-paced environment. Even though we expect you to operate at a strategic and tactical level, we hope it does not mean you are disconnected from finance routines. You have both understanding of processes, systems and tasks and find fulfilment to help the team when they need it.
