What do we do?

ICEYE is building and operating its commercial constellation of small Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) satellites with SAR data available to customers. Our satellites acquire images of Earth at any time - even when it’s cloudy or dark - providing commercial and government partners with unmatched persistent monitoring capabilities. Information derived from our SAR images helps customers make data-driven decisions to address time-critical challenges in various sectors, such as maritime, disaster management, insurance, and finance.

What are we looking for?

To support the company’s growth, we continue to scale our Quality Engineering team and looking for a Product Quality Engineer Internto join our global Quality Team on a 3 month internship this summer. At the end of a successful 3 month period there will be the possibility to either extend the internship, or depending on personal performance and business needs you may be offered a full-time permanent position as a Product Quality Engineer!

About the role?

As the Product Quality Intern, you will work closely with ICEYE Quality Organization, Customer and Satellite Operations, and Operations System Engineering teams to support various stakeholders in making sure that we deliver SAR image products of quality according to our product specifications by detecting, investigating, reporting and analyzing anomalies. You will also be involved in the overall Quality Management System, ensuring that our processes are lean and being applied in a way that produces efficient and dependable services to ensure satisfied customers.

  • Support internal and external stakeholders by detecting, investigating, and mitigating SAR image products anomalies.
  • Facilitate Product Quality non-conformance procedures and gather and monitor relevant metrics in Jira.
  • Triage, escalate, analyze product and system issues, and report quality data for the purpose of reducing system downtime and increasing customer satisfaction.
  • Facilitate Operations Quality Assurance processes and continuously improve the delivery of customer products according to our product specifications.
  • Participate in Quality Control and Quality Assurance development activities together with other team members.
  • Facilitate and help to analyze and prioritize the resolution of known system issues together with the Product Owners for continuous improvement of system reliability.


Required skills:
  • Relevant educational background in Geographic Information Systems, Geoinformatics, Earth Observation, or Remote Sensing.
  • Familiarity with Remote Sensing technologies and geospatial analysis techniques.
  • Hands-on experience with GIS tools, for example, QGIS, SNAP, ArcGIS Pro.
  • Accountability, dependability, responsiveness, attention to detail, and client-facing interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent command of English and very good communication skills.
Desirable (but not essential) skills:
  • Basic understanding of orbital mechanics and satellite systems.
  • SAR data and RADAR technology knowledge is an advantage.
  • Practical experience with Python for data science, scripting skills are an advantage.
