Service Engineer, Site Supervisor

As a Service Engineer, Site Supervisor at ABB Oy, Marine & Ports division in Turku or Helsinki, you will be responsible for supervising maintenance activities for ABB Azipod® electric propulsion units. You will execute service work according to work instructions and in accordance with ABB standard processes, quality standards and safety guidelines. You will be in close cooperation with customers and other ABB teams, acting as the technical point while delivering quality and satisfying customer service. The position involves approximately 150 days of mostly international travel, as you will be providing hands-on assistance at customer sites. This role reports to the Manager, Service Operations. Your responsibilities

  • Performing and supervising mechanical service tasks for ABB Azipod® propulsion units
  • Mechanical supervision and execution of maintenance activities, installation, testing and commissioning of the systems in cooperation with the customer
  • Consulting with and advising customers on the best service solutions in accordance with standard processes, procedures and safety guidelines
  • Creating and maintaining strong relationships with customers, appreciating their needs, and providing specialist assistance and solutions
  • Identifying opportunities to develop new service applications, equipment and methods

Your background

  • B.Sc. degree education in mechanical engineering
  • Work requires extensive travelling globally, up to 150 days per year
  • Experience in shipbuilding and knowledge of ABB products are advantages
  • You seek solutions actively. Interaction with both the customer and the ABB team is an important part of this job, so you have good communication skills
  • Good Finnish and English skills are mandatory in this position, other language skills are an advantage
  • You are familiar with MS Office software
  • You work well both independently and as a part of a team. Interaction with both the customer and the ABB team is an important part of this job
